Use P-3? Primer to stabilize new and problem peeling areas on wood decking and siding, concrete, stucco, rusty metal railings, rusty nail heads, and galvanized metal surfaces. Note: Not for use on garage floors, driveways, or automobile traffic areas.


All surfaces must be clean, dry, and free from dirt, mildew stains, dust and other foreign matter. Do not apply over sealed surfaces. Remove surface stains, dirt and failed oxidized stains with Superdeck?Wood Cleaner. Remove solid stains or paints with Superdeck? Wood Stripper. For redwood and cedar, follow cleaning or stripping with Superdeck? Wood Brightener to remove tannin stains and brighten wood to its original color. For new wood remove mill glaze with Superdeck? Wood Brightener.
WARNING! Removal of old paint by sanding, scraping or other means may generate dust or fumes that contain lead. Exposure to lead dust or fumes may cause brain damage or other adverse health effects, especially in children or pregnant women. Controlling exposure to lead or other hazardous substances requires the use of proper protective equipment, such as a properly fitted respirator (NIOSH approved) and proper containment and cleanup. Product should be shaken or stirred before and during application. When using more than one container of product, intermix all product and stir well to ensure color consistency.


Do not thin.


DO NOT TINT. P-3? Primer dries to a light green shade to indicate where the product has been applied. Product is supplied ready to use.


Apply a thick coat with brush or roller. When rolling use 3/8 nap synthetic roller cover for light texture finishes, 1/2-3/4 nap for medium texture finish, and 11/4 nap for heavy texture finishes. Back rolling is suggested when spraying working the product smoothly and evenly into the surface to ensure a uniform appearance. Always maintain a wet edge to avoid lapping. Test Area: Always apply product to a small test area and allow to dry completely before coating entire project to ensure desired color and appearance.


Product may be applied by brush, roller, or airless sprayer. Use a nylon or polyester brush or a synthetic roller cover. Back rolling is suggested when spraying, working the product smoothly and evenly into the surface to ensure a uniform appearance. Apply 1-2 coats to stabilize area.


Do not apply oil base paints or stains over P-3? Primer. Top coat P-3? Primer only with a high quality 100% acrylic latex paint or solid color stain such as Superdeck? Acrylic Solid Color Stain. Top coat all horizontal decking within 24 hours and vertical siding within 48 hours. NOTE: PRODUCT REMAINS PERMANENTLY TACKY UNTIL TOP COATED AND MAY PICK UP DIRT AND DEBRIS IF NOT TOP COATED WITHIN THE RECOMMENDED TIME PERIOD.


1-2 coats are recommended.


45?F-90?F. Do not apply if surface is hot to touch or if rain is likely to occur.

DRY TIME @ 77 F:

Allow 1-2 hours dry time between coats. Dry time to recoat will vary depending substrate, temperature, and humidity conditions.


250-350 sq. ft. per gallon. Spread rate will vary depending on porosity of substrate


Clean brushes and equipment with soap and water. Dispose of empty container or unused portion in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations.
